Sir : Saare jokes Sardaro par kyu
bante hain..??
.
.
A sikh student : "Jab desh kamzor
tha to usse apni Bahu-Betiyon ko
Mughalon se bachane ke liye SIKHON
ki zarurat thi.
.
SIKHON ne Raksha ki (Izzat
Bachaayi)
.
.
Fir Azaadi mein SIKHON ki zarurat
thi,
SIKHON ne apne yog mein 86%
kurbaniaan di or fir Aazadi Mili
.
.
Fir Desh ko bhookh lagi, SIKHON ne
Gehu ugaya aur 90% Anaaj diya
(Bhookh Miti)
.
.
.
Ab desh hasna chahta hai toh
90% jokes bhi Sardaron par.
.
.
.
.
Yaani Sardar hain toh IZZAT hai,
.
.
Sardar hain toh SURAKSHA hai,
.
.
Sardar hain toh KHANA hai,
.
aur
.
.
Sardar hain toh HANSI hai,
aur
.
yeh sardar hain to hamare gharon mein
pooja hoti hai.
.
.
Yeh sardar hain tabhi hamare border
par suraksha hoti hai
.
.
Yeh sardar hain to zindagi asaan hai.
.
Ye Sardar Desh ki Shaan hain.

You must be wondering how will Sikh History be helpful in uniting our community. Its simple, history is such a subject in which all the great heroes and their stories  can be influential not only in society but also in the individual's thought process. Their greatness, their suffering, their humility, everything becomes a part of our everyday thinking.. Just like what Mahatma Gandhi did for the freedom struggle is imprinted in our minds, similarly through the medium of history our Guru's ideals should be imprinted in our Community's mindset. And if we look into the stories of our great predecessors we would not only admire the way in which they fought for our sovereignty but also try to follow their paths. It is one of the greatest assets of our faith - our history..
See you again soon,
Yours truly,

Sikh History's power

The history of the Sikhs is something which very few people know about.. Forget the non-sikhs not even our community knows their history completely.. If today you ask a Sikh Man who was a Baba Baghel Singh or a Jassa Singh Alluhwalia, very few people would be able to relate to them. Personally, I feel that our history has the power to create the lost unity within our community. The stories of  our great men and women have so much power in them that even the Americans realize our worth. It is a fact that Guru Gobind Singh's portrait lies in the White House.. what's more they even requested the Indian Government for a statue of the great General Hari Singh Nalwa but the Indian Government refused. The problem is, today more than 80% Sikhs do not know of their heritage and it is the lack of this which I wish to work on.

Introduction

I am a Sikh.. Not an amritdhari, but still a Sikh. I have never felt the need to take amrit and do not believe that I will   consume it in the near future. Does that make me wrong? I don't believe so.. Being a Sikh is a proud feeling for me but unless and until an inner voice tells me to become an amritdhari, I do not believe I will. It is a choice not something to be imposed. I have opened this blog to enrich and unite the Sikh Community via our rich history and because I feel that today it is the need of the hour..
Yours truly,
J.S. Wadhwa
